After the last shot of the day at an East London photo studio, Thomas de Kluyver is talking about the extensive contents of his kit. “You have to be prepared for everything,” the largely self-taught makeup artist says with a boyish sense of mischief, describing the products he keeps on hand for his editorial and runway improvisations: prosthetic tears and [coloured] contacts; temporary tattoos, which were writ large (amore, roma) for Gucci’s recent resort show.
